Treat yourself as you treat others, oldest saying but
warrants repeating.
Call me a Health Freak, it’s true, I am constantly thinking
what I can do to better myself physically and emotionally.
Did you know that they work hand in hand? You can work on
yourself emotionally but typically that isn’t going to drop
the pounds or get your cholesterol down. We must also take
good care of ourselves physically and you will start to feel
your emotions come into check.
I am a huge vitamin and herbs person. If there is a natural
remedy out there I will research it and find out more about
it. A lot of people have a tendency to go overboard and take
10 to 40 pills a day, thats not only a waste of money it’s
dangerous! I recommend a Good Multi-vitamin for the immune
system. If you have allergies to certain things they have
vitamins for you, no milk, no soy, etc
Some people think that if you eat right you shouldn’t need
vitamins, thats true but how many of us eat right everyday, I
don’t. We all have to breath and not very many places are you
going to find 100% clean air, we are all going to inhale
dust, pullutants, etc. Our immune systems need to be guarded
against these things.
Some medications we take can take a toll on our bodies, don’t
get me wrong though, Medications has it’s place and helps
save lives everyday, but like anything else it has it’s pros
and cons, we just need to Weigh each one.
If I get a cold I may take some extra vitamin C because it
will definately help get my immune system back in line.
If I do develop some sort of infection and I am prescribed a
Anti-biotic I will take Acidophilus as it keeps a good
balance of Natural Flora in and through out my colon. It
will prevent yeast infections also.

Taking supplements to boost your metabolism is a relatively easy thing to do. There are plenty of supplements out there which help to fire up our metabolism and to keep it running well for us throughout the day. The main thing is that you choose something which is all natural so that you do not end up damaging this vital part of your body in the process. Taking man-made chemicals in order to alter the way that our body functions is simply a bad idea from the start..More

After I reluctantly retired in November 2006 due to medical problems, I reached an all time low. I dealt with not just medical issues but emotional also. After 10 years of going from one doctor to another trying to find out what is wrong with me, Only to hear the same things over and over. I was told the Pain in my body is from 1:Depression 2: The Depression is related to losing My Daughter April, whom at the age of 18 was killed in a 14 car pile-up on I-4 in Hillsborough County January 30, 2000, she was the only death out of 14 cars.
3 years ago I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, but I had to take my health into my own hands which wasn’t the first time I have become my own physician. Read more

This is huge!
Commonality of an immune system defect in patients with CFS and prostate cancer led researchers to look for the virus in their blood samples. In this study, WPI scientists identified XMRV in the blood of 68 of 101 (67 percent) CFS patients. In contrast, they found that eight of 218 healthy people (3.7 percent) contained XMRV DNA. http://www.co-cure.org/XMRV.htm
XMRV Triggers Urgency, Flurry of Interest in Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
This excites me!

Yes there is now a blood test for CFS/ME. Cost has to be paid up front and you can submit receipt yourself to your insurance co. I am at a disadvantage because I had to quit my job in November 2006 due to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. I filed for Social Security Disability in March 2007, I have been turned down twice and is now in the appeal stage. I think if I was to get tested for CFS and indeed have it I might stand a better chance of getting approved. I also suffer with high blood pressure, sleep apnea. I was tested positive for Epstein-Barr syndrome about 4 years ago. I have been told by several doctors that losing my 18 year old daughter in a 14 car pile up was probably what triggered FM and CFS, I don’t doubt that for a minute. I have had flu symptoms for 3 weeks now but no fever. I get my medications for depression, high blood pressure and nausea through the free clinic here, I am doubtful that they would pay for the cost of the blood test for CFS but it won’t hurt to ask.

Are you using Fentanyl Transdermal Patch?
I started using the Fentanyl Patch about 2 years ago for chronic fibromyalgia pain. When I first started them I read the common side effects on the paper the Pharmacy put in the bag. About six months ago when I went to pick up my prescription, The Pharmacist alerted me to the fact that I should never use a heating pad, electric blanket or use a heated water bed, due to the fact that it will cause the fentanyl medicine to absorb to fast into my blood stream and could cause a overdose or death. Thank God I had never done any of those things.
When I first started using the patches I thought it was a answer to Prayer, a miracle because the patch helped my pain so much. You would have thought I was a representative for a pharmaceutical company, I told everybody about them and how much they relieved my pain. OK so by now your probably wondering why I am telling you all this. About 3 months ago I started having problems urinating, I sometimes sat on the toilet for 15 minutes before I could start urinating. I started having to put my hand under cold running water so I could start. I also had another side effect that really irritated me, my legs would jerk and with no warning. I couldn’t take the side effects anymore so I called my Doctor, asked her if the patches could be causing these side effects? I have other medications that I am taking but the Doctor told me it was most likely the patches. So I was gradually weened off them and I started peeing right away with no hesitation and My legs have stopped jerking.
What is a a Fentanyl patch?
Fentanyl Patch contains a high concentration of a potent Schedule II opioid substances which include fentanyl, hydromorphone, methadone, morphine, oxycodone, and oxymorphone. It is a strong prescription pain medication for moderate to severe chronic pain that can provide long-lasting relief from persistent pain. The patch delivers the medication, into the body slowly through the skin, where it works to relieve pain for up to 3 days (72 hours).
It is so important to stay up to date with the latest side effects of any medications your taking.
